When we die what happens to our online accounts?

Someone just died and I sympathize with the family. I pray that God
will console them. Now back to my youthful mindset. Death begs many
questions but here is one more: When we die what happens to our online
accounts? I have not died before, have you? One thing though what is
presently obtainable is that when people die their accounts just
remains like that dormant, inaccessible and dead too. I would like to
will my accounts to someone when I die you see but I don't want them
to have access to the accounts while I'm alive. You could include your
password in your will but the truth is people change their password
over time and that will require you to update your will every time you
change your password. I don't think that it is best practice to write
down your password anywhere. All I know for now is that when I die I
will like to pass down my email account, cloud storage services,
facebook, twitter etc. When we get there. I hope someone will create
such a service. I might just as well create one.

Lucy is a movie directed by Luc Benson and lucy is a girl who used a drug (C.P.H.4) that increased her mental capacity. The movie raised a lot of questions about what will be made possible if we could just use more of our brain. Unrestricted access to  memory (never forgetting a thing). I watched episode 3 of coke studio season 2 last week on nigerzie and I've not blogged about what went down. Fantastic stuff. Dammy Krane, Orezi and Alaga Ibile are coming to OAU today. 

A tale of broken touchscreens

Months ago there was a race for touchscreen phones (especially made in china android phones) in nigeria. Everyone was buying touchscreen phones ( I think we are better for it ). These days I see the same phones with the same set of people but something is different now. The screens are broken. When the phone gets a small crack the crack spreads and before you know it you have a perfectly cracked screen instead of a perfectly smooth screen. Look at the bright side though, your phone is now a beautiful work of art. It is no longer the phone you bought that resembles every other phone of the same model. Now you have your own personalized broken touchscreen phone.

To phone manufacturers
I get the idea that you want to make a cheap phone and you have to cut back on some components but make sure you are also making high end phones with better screens.

How I finally rooted my Tecno P3

Just do a quick search for "root tecno p3" the chances are the that you will find a website or blog that simply tells you to download poot and ministro II, remove your memory card bla bla bla. I have tried that many times with no success losing valuable documents in the process.

So have I finally rooted my phone?
Yes, I have. Let's usher in shuame. There is a saying(it is highly probable that I cooked this up), "you don't take ur bmw to the toyota mechanic"

I have tried a lot of root apps in the past:framaroot ,one root,this root that root. All this while I've been looking at the wrong  place. Tecno is a chinese brand, shuame is a chinese app. It kind of makes sense.

October 1 Nigeria: Being positive

It is quite easy to be negative about my dear country nigeria at 54. I don't need to rack my brain to list things gone wrong around here.
As an optimist and patriot I will like to enumerate some positive some positvie things.

We are still together:
Against all the odds and insurgenicies, varying petrol price, change in focus of the economy,wars and many nasty things, we are still together

Our spirits are up high
The never die spirit of nigerians is still there and that alone in the face of all our problems is something that makes me marvel.

Economy
If you like it or not, nigeria is the largest economy in africa, eclipsing South Africa months ago. At first I couldn't believe it but it is true. Whether that is a result of government effort [niggas will disagree] or a consequence of individual hustle, private sector or the mere size of the nigerian market (120 million + people) that attracts investors I cannot say for sure.

We are rich (some individuals are)
Just check the forbes list. You will find nigerians topping the money list here and there. More than anything this shows that there is so much wealth to generate in nigeria that those that are doing the generating are stinking rich.

***This was first pointed out by an high ranking government official in nigeria. I have sort of put it in perspective

We win cups
This one is funny but we still live up to our name of "Giant of Africa". We simply oppress our african compatriates with our soccer prowess. Damn we are good and we have cups to prove that point.

We still have our national cake

National cake is an imaginary cake just like the north pole, south pole, latitude and longitude, they are imaginary man made elements. Such is the national cake. It is a cake we all know is there but still can't be seen. Call it the "good of the land". Our outrageously overpaid politician are simply having their share of the national cake.Won't  you like to have a bite?
 INVEST IN NIGERIA
The interesting thing about the cake is it seems never to deplete.

We are diversifying(at last)
Nigeria started out as an agricultural country with the bulk of the economy based on agricultural export of cocoa,palm produce,cotton and other cash crops( I wasn't there but the history books have a tale to tell) The work force consisted of strong, capable, skilled, unskilled and generally vibrant youthful population. There were high hopes for the prospects of the new country. Everyone felt nigeria was going to RULE THE WORLD (we will get there remember the exodus of Isrealites). You will be wondering what happened, well OIL HAPPENED. Someone was quoted saying
"The problem of oil in nigeria was simple, we were not searching for oil, when oil was struck we didn't have to refine it, all we did was get paid"

You see agriculture is hard work but here comes oil and gas where you just get paid, no work.

SERIOUSLY??

The good news is that the economy is balancing out, encouraging agriculture, small and medium enterprises etc

It's all  good.

I think there is one negative thing I have to mention though

When I'm using a public pc at a cafe I'm burdened with the responsibility of signing out my account on all the various websites I opened before leaving.
With private browsing or incognito all I have to do is simply close the browser window.Smooth.

Musixmatch MusicId: Finding NICO & VINZ

This is the story of how I used musixmatch MusicId to find the "Am I wrong" song.
So you have been jamming the song for month? Whatever. You have known the song from the days of the group called ENVY? Good for you.

Make no mistake I have used shazam before but when I used shazam I used it to identify song which I already knew. That was the time blackberry subscription was almost unlimited in nigeria (that has changed now). It has been capped. I used shazam to see for example if shazam will recognize a wizkid or fela's song. I was happy whenever a positive result came up. Cool stuff. One thing though, you could only shazam five songs in a month on the free version. The bulbs went off. When I got my android phone and saw shazam on play store I didn't bother downloading.

At this point you will be wondering if this story is about shazam or musixmatch. Well it is about musixmatch, we are just getting to the point, the root of the matter.

(IN MY MIND) Do I really need shazam when I could alway ask someone what the track was?

I didn't download shazam but you should already know the story of how I was forced into downloading musixmatch.If not, read my post on poweramp and lyrics.

I was walking on the street of my school on a beautiful afternoon and I just heard a very nice beat coming off the speakers set for an event. My mind just went like - cool song let me try the musixmatch MusicId feature.I pulled out my phone and opened musixmatch and in seconds I came face to face with the details of the song.

yes that's it, that's how I found out about NICO & VINZ. That is a really cool track and I've been jamming it for a while.Waiting for the album Black Star Elephant.

One more thing: What was the music video all about? Where they searching for each other or for better network for the tv antenna?

And I call it a wrap. Music Id cool feature.

Poweramp and lyrics

I like poweramp, great design, it even plays mp4 and other video formats as audio cool.There was a day that I was singing

a song Titanium- David Guetta ft. Sia and in singing I murdered the lyrics, I got the lyrics wrong. Somewhere in the

chorus. I was corrected by my friends who said something like "don't you read the lyrics". Since then I was determined to

know the lyrics of songs. Well what is the point really of singing a song without knowing exactly what the singer was

saying?

Poweramp
Like I said, excellent app but where is the lyrics? I searched online and found out that I need to download musixmatch (a

whole new player) just to have lyrics on poweramp.

(IN MY MIND): Poweramp are you guys kidding?

I downloaded the musixmatch music player(with lyrics widget for apps like poweramp). It turns out the lyrics musixmatch

widget (well it is a widget) displays for poweramp is in a floating display, it is doesn't really blend with the design of

poweramp. It is just not cool.

Musixmatch here I come
I started using musixmatch even though it doesn't have all the features of poweramp but it particularly shines in some

respect-lyrics. The way it dispalys lyrics is really nice.And the MusicID, more on that later.

So it turns out that simply because poweramp doesn't allow lyrics in-app I have downloaded musixmatch and it looks like it

will remain that way for a while because both are brilliant app and I need those lyrics well presented.

It is just like yahoomail telling you to sign up for a gmail account to format email before sending it. YahooMail will be

like it is not our main business, we will focus on our strength. I will be like ?? Really?

Poweramp has very nice software designers, it is evident from the sophistication of the app and beauty of delivery just

that they have not done a perfect job with lyrics.
 

Google keep

Once upon a time...                                                
I have this android app called Notes on my phone and I use it to keep notes.

Then...
Being the adventurous type I tinker with my phone and lose my contacts,text messages and Notes.
Thanks to Gmail and FB sync I get my contacts back and others from Whatsapp.

Once upon a time + Then... x3 or more times

In my mind...                                              
Those were precious notes, how would I ever retrieve them? Is there a better way to keep them? Should I use a book? I need a cloud solution.                       

Tried a book...
Well I always have jotter.There is just something about being on the go and saving notes and looking up strange words in the dictionary.

Evernote?
Well, evernote is nice.It works pretty well but there is not way [1] my phone will run whatsapp,bbm and evernote together. I can't do without WhatsApp[2] so I just have to give up Evernote on my phone(I have an  account with Evernote)

I still have to keep notes.
